Oktoberfest Brisbane: Australia’s largest German festival celebrates 10 years in 2017!
MORE THAN 43,000 culture-seeking enthusiasts don their Dirndl and Lederhosen and head to the Brisbane Showgrounds each year as the Oktoberfest Brisbane celebration ignites the city with a rich Bavarian flavour.
This year Oktoberfest Brisbane will be held on Oktober 6 – 8 and 13 -15.
With plenty to attract Brisbane families, Oktoberfest will be an opportunity to experience the excitement of the world famous Oktoberfest celebration in Munich, right in our own beautiful city.
The ever-popular Kinder Zone returns in 2017 to give kids the opportunity to embrace their inner German. The Kinder Zone offers plenty of fun and educational activities
throughout the entire festival.
I’m told that the two Sundays of Oktoberfest are particularly family-friendly, with lots on for the kids, including two free rides per child!
One of the best parts is, kids (and anyone under 18) are free! (But the free ride deal is only on the two Sundays).
Event directors and husband and wife duo Kim and Boris Zoulek said Oktoberfest Brisbane allows children to experience and atmosphere that is culturally rich and memorable.
So bring the kids to experience an authentic Kasperltheater (Puppet Show), learn German, get their face painted and visit the petting zoo. Kids will love Germany’s popular “Torwandschiessen” (go-for-goal) set to test every budding Beckenbauer, Beckham or Ronaldo and Street Science for kids science experiments. There’s fun for the whole family all day long, not to mention great rides, live entertainment and delicious food.
