Access All Areas – Wrapped in Love Nursing Top

Maternity and Breastfeeding Top

I've long been a fan of wrap or cross-over design tops for ease of breastfeeding. If you know me personally, you'll know that I'm not particularity shy when it comes to breastfeeding in public. Who am I kidding? I'm not shy at all. Even with my first baby, I always preferred feeding in public spaces over a crowded, (sometimes) stinky, dark parents' room.

I was recently given the opportunity to try the Wrapped in Love by  Mothers En Vogue, stocked by my favourite clothing store, Milk and Love. I tried it on immediately after it arrived, beautifully packaged.

I chose the dark red colour, because I felt it would suit a lot of other pieces I already owned , including the Sangha Waterfall Wrap, also stocked by Milk and Love. Also, it reminds me of my favourite thing in the world, red wine.

I am a fairly standard size 12 in tops, and ordered a medium. I'm actually thrilled with how this top fits and sits. The 3/4 length sleeve is perfect for me, as a taller woman, it serves to make my arms look more proportionate. The babydoll style, cut under the bust, allows room for a growing baby bump (perfect in pregnancy), but is also very flowy and flattering.

The mid-length sleeve also makes this piece trans-seasonal; it can be worn under a heavier layer (such as a denim jacket or cotton wrap) in the cooler months, or alone during the upcoming spring. The fabric is incredibly breathable and natural, rendering the garment comfortable in varied climates and seasons.

Of course, I felt I had to road-test the feeding accessibility and I found it to be excellent. Similarly to a regular wrap top, you just pop one side of the front down. The Wrapped in Love top has a band, if you will, which sits across the top portion of the breast, for added comfort and warmth, and still allows baby plenty of access to your breast for feeding.

I've been wearing this top a lot during the past couple of  weeks. It's quickly become a bit of a wardrobe staple. It can be paired with jeans and sneakers for a casual look, or with a high-waisted skirt for work. I'm also planning to wear it with a flowing maxi skirt and boots in the near future.

Milk and Love stock many styles of nursing and maternity tops, and are currently holding a sale over on their website! The Wrapped in Love Top is still available in black and is currently at a great sale price.

  1. I used a similar top when I breastfed. I just LOVED them and wore them til they’d had it! Love the colour you picked – it really suits you. They really make you feel comfortable breastfeeding in public – nothing shows and you don’t feel you’re wearing a tent to cover up #teamIBOT
