We love books. We love traditions. We adore Christmas!
So it’s so exciting when we find a new quirky little tradition and hop right onto the bandwagon with millions of other parents around the world, right?
Last Christmas we were welcoming a very special new arrival to our family – our sweet baby Rosie, born last September.
And then another arrival showed up. Meet Holly Golightly, our Elf on the Shelf:

Holly certainly has the physical appearance of her Hollywood namesake, Audrey Hepburn’s character in the film Breakfast at Tiffany’s. But the pixie cut and slender physique are where the similarities end.
Holly is not demure. She’s a judgemental little so-and-so who sits upon her shelf watching our every move, and reporting to Santa.
She’s great, she keeps us on our toes and she cracks us up.

Holly likes to keep up with current events in the world and enjoys getting up to fun and games while the children sleep.
There are Facebook groups for inspiration and sharing about elves. We keep it simple here. And at night, we hide all the food.
(This isn’t a sponsored post, but as several of you were interested to know where I “adopted” Holly from, it was The Book Depository. She was about $40 with free delivery and came with a hardcover book and keepsake storage case.)
